It depends on your car. You want your LCA's to be paralell to the ground, or the axle side of the mount just slightly lower than the body side.
If you get too extreme away from that, you start having roll steer issues, or wheel hop issues, depending on which direction you are off.
If you are lowering the car, you will likely need them, but usualy only the first hole, you only really IMHO need the lower hole if your car is very low to the ground.

I have heard they help on wheelhop issues on drag racing.
My two cars have/are lowered and never had any installed. Something I would like to do, but other things are higher on the list. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

I had a buddy in Tacoma who used to make them. He swore by them. Unfortunately he is out of the 3rdgen business these days. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

Late to the party but I noticed a significant difference with the brackets vs without. _________________

+1 For the brackets. A must with any lowered car also. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I have Lakewood LCAs...i think they're cool, but my car is slow, so I can't tell a difference. _________________
