Well, round 2 on the head gaskets didnt take. Its not even running yet, not even fully bolted together, and its leaking coolent.... both sides
So my guess is, these 1003 gaskets suck ass, or these heads are worped(sp?)
Studs used, 80psi
no copper coat
Found out about a new machine shop since this last one cant seem to keep date promises. Going to take them in and see if they are ok, and what HE would recommend using for gaskets.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed. Ive waisted almost 400 bux in just gaskets now. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Well, found out round 2 problem was an installers error.
Partly fixed last night w/o buying new gaskets. Filled with fluid to check for leaks when I get home. :fingerscrossed: |

What did you do? Just thought it might be helpful for others potentially.
Good luck. Hope this gets it.

I got distracted by a phone call, and large chested woman jogging....didnt tighten all the bolts
Had to remove the alt, ps, drivers header.
Plus to install the studs in the ends, I had to remove 4 rockers, compress the spring, and pry it outta the way.
Not 100% this fixed it, but we shall see. |

That happens, I always budget more time for a project when Jenn helps me. |
