Got an entire Magnaflow catback sitting in the back of my Dad's shop. Needs to go as a set, though.

Bear in mind when you buy a muffler for a third-gen, that the stock setup has a cross-flow one in/two out setup. If you buy a single in/out you'll need to rework the bend over the axle, and run a single tip.

yea im just gonna run a single muffler on the passenger side... since its straight there.. i did some measuring and it will work ...

maybe something like this would work better too...

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02race.asp
or
http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spintech/spintechindex.asp
since their flatter idk lol

im going to shorten my piping alot prolly because its not hooked up right anyway ... just til i get an actual exhaust system

Greg, I think I paid around $300 for it a few years ago. It's like $450 new from Summit. Would want about $250 obo for it. It's a really nice fully-stainless mandrel system. Has tips, cat flange, and all the clamps as well.

They might, but there's a couple variables here.

1) They have to be a ring/pinion that fit GM 7.5 or 7.625 10 bolt carriers. (he said "stock", so I'm guessing so here..)

2) if #1 is true, you need to find out if you have at least 3.23 or numerically higher gears, if not...you have what is called a "2 series carrier" (thing that the ring gear bolts to) which means you will need a ring gear spacer like this one:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Summit-Racing-Equipment/Items/MGR-075050

Also, you'll need a dial indicator to set pinion depth, a set of carrier and pinion gear shims, and probably someone who's done it before with ya to help or walk you through it.

all that being said.......

you're probably best off to find someone with a whole 3.42 or 3.73 axle that is complete.

my humble $.02

Have you checked RPO's or the axle tag to confirm the ratio?

RPO codes are in the glovebox, or in the rear hatch storage box. From your description it does sound like a 2.7x-ish ratio though.

His links to the parts don't work, but a TGO member has a set of 3.73 gears and install kit for $220 shipped. That and a spacer ring should do you.
