What kind of smoke is it? Black smoke, blue(ish) smoke, white smoke?
Valve seals are a quick smoke, right at start up. |

White smoke is usually water/coolant burning or possibly condensation.
Check your oil, make sure theres no coolant in it. _________________

Most cars in this colder weather will have a little white smoke for a few minutes on a cold start because of condensation in the exhaust. The heat from combustion just vaporizes the water on the inside of the pipes.
Even worse if you have a free flowing exhaust and a carbureted car.
Check your oil cap and dipstick for white foam anyway, but I'd say this is totally normal. If you see some whitish foamy stuff, that means coolant is getting into parts of the engine it shouldn't be.
Here's an example of some foam:

If you're worried about white smoke, throw a compression tester on it. Doesn't sound like anything abnormal though. Every car smokes white a little on startup. |

It is that time of year. Cold weather + high humidity = some smokey exaust. My car is pretty bad about it too.
I would start it up on a nice warm dry afternoon, and see if it doesn't smoke. |

I have noticed that thick wall exhaust takes much longer to warm up. My LT1 car would send a big trail of fog everywhere I went due to this. The V6 never really did.
If your car isn't sucking down coolant I wouldn't worry about it. |
