Ok so I don't like having a computer controlling my car. Im weird like that. What do I need to replace so that I can just take the damn thing out? I already did the carb and distributor. Anything else? Because my car is having troubles and I want to be sure that the computer isn't screwing with things before I go replacing random parts.

If you already ditched the computer contolled carb and distributor then your computer isn't doing anything anymore.

If it's having troubles it isn't the computer.

I'm with stupid

If you just want the wires and whatnot out of the engine bay, the harness to it should be stand-alone. wires go through the passenger side, you may have to loosen or remove the inner fender/splashguard to get the bundle of wires through there., then just trace everything into the engine bay and unplug.

As I recall the heater and wipers have a gound that hooks into the ground loop that goes through the computer...so I had to re-ground mine...

Depending on what year your car is, it may also control your speedo and cruise control.

Ok I figured it wasn't doing much any more but I just wanted to be sure. My car is a 85. The emissions stuff is all vacuum controlled right?
