Ya know, you really start to get faster at this! Plus the AIR was big help with the head bolts. Started at 645pm tonight, finished at 845pm. Wasn't russian either!
Good news is, no evidence of collision!
Gotta find a spring compressor to play around with the valves while I wait for $$ to fix. |

You think you beat me! That's the problem!
Severely leaky valves!
Put air in cyl #1 to pop the springs off and inspect.... air coming out the intake.
Checked #7... air REALLLY coming out the intake.
Bent valves or a thin grind that didn't last.
No evidence of valve contact though, so that's promising.
I do have a spare set of valves. Need About $250 to fix assuming I don't need to BUY valves. $150 for the grind roughly, and $90 for new springs.
Plus gaskets.
Found one of my headers was leaking pretty bad. Gonna try and find some grade 8 header bolts so I dont round the ends. Maybe even find some with 5/16 head or something to get a ratchet or box end wrench in there. |

Don't have a problem with them coming loose. Actually it'd be more PITA to use the locks than not.
I have a slight problem with getting to the head of the bolt.
Tony those are great, except the head looks too big for a few of my trouble bolt holes. I had to grind the flange down on a few to make them fit past the primary. |

Your primarys are bigger. My tube design is different. I think the actual wall of my headers might be thicker also. I had no problem welding the air tubes flush.
You have 1 3/4 I have 1 5/8 |

It keeps the oil from splashing up onto his intake, this is to try to keep the intake cooler. I think it is called a "Lifter Valley Cover or Pan, or something".

And in all acutality I don't think it does much for keeping oil off the intake. I don't know really how it would get up there. The biggest thing I have it for, is if a rocker comes off, or a stud breaks, etc this piece of metal keeps the lifter in it's bore.
If the lifter was thrown out of the bore, oil wouldn't get to the rest of things, and cause major damage. It's saved my rear several times!
It's the Moroso Lifter Valley Oil Baffle.
Was like $20 and WELL Worth it. Trim to fit. |
