Hey i just fragged my tranny after an autocross. I am looking for a replacment so i can race again next month while getting the broken one rebuilt. Can anybody help me out? willing to come and pick up just about anywhere in the NW

Convert to a t-56 spd. Are you looking for a t-5 for a v8 or the v6? you can use the t-5 from a v6 to a v8 just buy a the disc that matches your splines or have one custom made to match the dia. of the v8. i've seen people use the stock 2.8l disc with there v8 pressure plate and it works great. i know a guy that has one right now and it is in great working order.

I would need a v8 tranny. I would not want to put a t-5 from a v6 car in, I think they would be weaker than the the 8 cylinder tranny, and i abuse the hell out of it while autocrossing, and driving wreckless lol

the input shaft is the same size.

The diffrence is in the number and size of the splines. The V8 has more, but smaller sized splines. The V6 has fewer, but larger splines.

I thought the V6 tranny had a 1" 14 spline input shaft.

The V8 has a 1 1/8 28 spline input shaft.

If the motor in my 84 is bad (#4 was getting no compression) I'll sell you the T-5 out of it for $75. do you need the shifter also?

I would just need the tranny, i dont think i need the shifter unless i would not be able to re-use the one that is in the car already. I am waiting on a guy who said he has one on TGO. but let me know if ur motor is bad, i havent heard back from him in a while.

#4 sucked its exhaust valve. Not worth money/time to repair.

Tranny is yours.

Will you be at PWC in Skamokawa? If you need it sooner, I'll drain the fluid and see how much shipping will be.

I gotta limp it home tomorrow, then I can start pulling the Tranny.

This is the earlier type that takes the 80w gear oil and not GM syncromesh.

Eah, no big deal, I have a couple TV boxes and I could wrap it pretty good. Someone told me that these things don't weight that much without gear oil in them, like 35-45lbs. I guess I get to find out, huh? Laughing
