Whatever you do, don't get an Autozone reman.
Rebuilding a motocraft holley for a friend of a friend. It was missing the Accelerator pump needle, AND the secondary metering intermediate plate, and various o-rings/gaskets.
No wonder it ran like crap. I'm surprised it ran at all! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Block out, dizzy out. The dizzy snapped just above where it touches the lifter valley.
Lots of sludge inside the motor.
Do need an intake, I posted in the wanted section. But I'm also checking the truck board as well. |

I think you're missing a fan spacer or something! |

I think the cross member I installed moved the motor back? The dizzy is RIGHT up against the firewall.
Plus he fan is actually bigger in dia then the opening in the shroud.
Another thing, this whole motor is from an elcamino, not a truck. So that is likely a fan for it, rather then truck. Yet the shroud I jacked off a 72 chevy truck. |

Ah.. there's actually 3 positions that the motor mount plates can be bolted into. Sounds like you have yours in the 6 cylinder position. The v/8 position is further forward. I'd use whichever setup your drivelines are made for. |

Also if you use the mounts from that El Camino it will sit lower than the truck mounts. |

I have a full aftermarket cross member with motor mounts. It will only bolt in one position.

I went to run it off its own gas tank (electric tbi pump) rather then a redneck gas tank hanging from the front frame horns...... blew out the gaskets.
So not sure whats up with my inline regulator that was SUPPOSE to be preset at 7psi, that blew the gaskets somewhere around 10-12.
So other then driving it around the neighborhood once. It hasnt really moved.
:edit: btw, since your on my facebook page, I keep it fairly uptodate with pictures. chevymad or whoever else that might be on the 67-72 board also has a way to keep uptodate. |
