Building a little fishing boat or airplane or something out there?
@ Jay: I'd have my sights fixed firmly on the front and rear crash bars. Those bishes are heavy. |

So, since were slow at work and the junkyard was about to crush a 91 camaro. I snagged the rear bumper, took some measurements and designed a rear crash bar.
Almost stock design.
Stock weights in at 27lbs with the grid on it. If my calculations are correct, this should tip in at 12-13 w/o the grid. Material already ordered. |

Thanks.
My first attempt was just learning and looked like some major pigon poop.
2nd was to fix my intake, and I was going to fill a void and be secure. Looked like crap tell I ground on it.
This is my 3rd. I think I'm getting better. But I still have more to go on this project. |

All test bolted up and fits Was a little off on my measurements, but if I have to build one again, I know what needs changed.
Trying to decide if I should paint, just clear it, or leave it raw? |

All put back together.
If I was to do this again and didnt want strap-down hook points. I think I could make this down to 10lbs.
So what should I try next? |

I already have an alumn front crash bar, and a spare to back it up.
Thought about STB. But wondering if alumn flexes to much to even make it worth it?
Everything I keep coming up with is on the rear of the car Ive seriously thought about an alumn catback to the muffler. |

That's a great idea for the crash bars, my front one is jacked from my tree incident its too bad you're not local I'd definitely buy one off of you, I would.t care except the passenger side of my chin spoiler is pulled in a bit, can't tell until you compare sides but its still annoying, does your front design have the same holes for the gfx? I'm always up to losing weight where I can lol _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

| If you need a front crash bar, start hunting the 82-84 camaros. Some models of them came with the alumns. Then just a slight trim on the plastic grid and its taken care of. |

| Jay do you have a weight on the factory aluminum piece? I have never weighed one but they seem overbuilt and you could probably shave a few pounds building one yourself. |
