67 MGB GT.
The good:
It was free and comes with an LT1. not installed, it won't fit. Lt1 served on the side.
The bad: its a 67 MGB GT. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Why is that bad... so long as you rip out any thing the Brit's touched that has electricity go through it.... it could be a cool car! |

I know, just a big project. It needs a hood and drivers door. Oh and engine, fortunately, 60* GM/T5 swaps are common so i'll do some looking. Who knows, I might live yet. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

I sold my old v6/t5 camaro combo to a guy who was putting it in something similar.
I would suspect it could be a good mpg car to drive. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Make the lt1 fit.
Now that's a plan.
What's the physical difference in size between a 6 cyl and an lb9...see how fast my mind gets changed.
Lt1 would fit better in a camaro _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Two cents:
Buy a 4L60E and put the LT1 in the Camaro.
Put an LB8 and T5 in the MG.
Sell the LB9 and 700R4.
It just makes more sense, and is the most profitable route as well.
I would fix the brakes and steering and do nothing else to it. More fun that way.
This isn't even the rustiest car you ever had. |

If hes going to buy a motor, I would do an L32 block with either and lb8 or LL2 top. Or redrill an LA1 for RWD position. |

Without even opening that link, I'm betting you are linking to that brown one.
You do know that the brown one really wasn't very rusted. It had no holes in it all. It was just the color of rust, with some surface rust thrown in for good measure. There are even witnesses on here. But you know that. Other than that the two cents is worth the money paid. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

That would make more power, but the 3.4L blocks are harder to find as the dime guys snap them up, and they didn't make as many to begin with.
Ideally if you were going to spend actual money on this project you would get an L36/T5 pullout from a '96-'02 Camaro or Birdy. That would put out around 200 horse and kick that little Brit shooting brake right into the nearest ditch, but money.
He should be able to find a 2.8 or 3.1 pullout with trans for two or three hundred and there are off-the-shelf mounts to bolt it into the MG.

You're right, I do. I remember Al and I following you up to the coast one year in that terrible car with it's terrible carburetor. |

Yeah, well I've been doing a lot of reading on it. 350s and even big blocks aren't unheard of, but the fabrication involved is more than I really want. A 60* with a t5 and off the shelf mounts seems the quickest and easiest.
For whatever its worth, the guys over at the MG equivilant of TGO are pretty sure its a 69. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Aaron, goes to show the differences in locations. I can find L32 blocks around here for just a few hundred. Does take a bit of time calling around.
Isnt the 3.8 block bigger? That gets back to how much modification. |
