1984 2.8L paid 350 for it on an impulse. They said it was an 86 but the title says its an 84, so I'll go with that. Did you even know you could buy so much ugly for only 350 bucks?
Look at that steering column, aint she purdy
I need some door parts I think.
I really don't know what to do with it now that I have it.
Wife is so very pleased with me too. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

I'll bet.
The early 2.8's are garbage. But good running 3.1's are cheap and plentiful, and the swap is easy. Just have to run an electric inline fuel pump.
Too bad your hood got tweaked. I wouldn't mind having it.
Definite theft recovery with a redneck fix afterwards. If you can get the car up here, I'll replace the column for you. |

ya the hood is garbage got some serious rust under it. Right now the tires are the biggest reason I can't go anywhere with it. The best tire on it is the donut, and its worn almost smooth. As far as the column goes it does make me nervous, but I'd probably drive it up there to swap it out. You wanted an S10 column in trade? What year? Tilt? As long as I have to buy one I might as well get the one that comes with installation guidance. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

So...uh... what are those plans for this thing?
Are you going to be like Rod and rally shizzle out of it in a field somewhere? _________________

If your gonna swap the motor, why not do the 3.4 swap?
I would say part it out, but I dont see much worth selling. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Plans?? you don't need plans when you have more money than supervision.
Thats since changed.
Don't really have any plans for it, put it back on the road and sell it maybe. Maybe keep it. I don't know we'll see. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Tell ya what. When you come up here, bring like $40. Will go to the Pull-A-Part and I'll buy an S10 column, then we'll go over to my Dad's house and "trade" him.

'Cause you can't buy good running 3.4's from Bruce for $110 complete with accessories and ECM.
BTW, is this the same car that was on Craigslist for the past couple months at around $400-$500? |

You got a demolition derby car! $350?!?! You got ripped off! I could make a joke about how appropriate it is that the car is brown, but that would be too easy! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

I have a set of tinted tail lights just like those if you want them. Mine have the single black stripe through the center. _________________ 92 Camaro

Very eloquent, Paul.
I would just like to also note that flea has no doubt further angered his wife by trading his nice green hood for my horrible red one. On the bright side, he now has louvers, and his hood actually opens when he pulls the lever. None of these will matter to his wife, however.
Also, flea now knows where I live, which is probably not a good thing... |

Yes but I do have plans for the green one, just not too sure how well green fits into those plans. If the green one does indeed stay green then a new flat hood is in order, and the louvered horrible red one goes to the piece o' crap. The Brown one does need work, but so far very little rust. I will know better when I get the carpet out.
In all seriousness, its a 6cyl car that doesn't look too rusty. It does run and drive pretty well. The body is in fair condition so far as dents etc go. It does need a column, but they can be had for fifty bucks or so at your local yard. Need to do something about the interior, probably strip the carpet and plastic for now and throw seat covers over the front seats, and finally a coat of paint.
oh yeah, that door panel. Who would throw away a door panel?? Why did he do that.
This is a tough crowd though sheesh. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

The whole drivers door, hatch trim, and right rear quarter are rust!!!! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

the drivers door does look to be completely rusted but its not. its a different color than the rest of the car, and really does look rusted. the trim needs to be cleaned up, the right quarter is also not rusted as bad as the pictures look, unless there is a case to be made for pin stripping over the rust.
It doesn't help that it is the same color as rust, but this is a case of pictures making it look worse than it is. So Far. don't know whats under the carpet yet but we'll see this weekend. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

$350 for a running car...i'd say that's a good find. _________________
