I need some help figuring out an issue. My mother's house had a phone line based intercom system from the gate. If you didn't have the gate code, you'd hit the 'Call' button and it would trip the phone line in the house and you could talk through the regular phone. It just tapped inline to the trip/ring wires at the demark box right outside the house. However, a number of years ago my mother switched to Comcast and lost the original demark box. Now, there is a comcast box that has a phone line coming out of it to a new demark setup. I tried tapping into that and hitting the call button I get nothing in the house. As soon as I disconnect the comcast line and just have the intercom hooked up it rings. The house is setup for and uses two lines (one for phone and one for fax). The intercom is a LiftMaster TAC1 from Chamberlain. Comcast is almost no help whatsoever. I can't imagine this being the only intercom setup with voip? _________________

Thats just one person. Keep asking around, maybe someone knows a butcher way to do it, or some "converter" box that will make it work.
IMO, that sounds like to common of a setup for it not to beable to work. |
