I put the BMR K-member, A-arms, and the C4 brake conversion on and my wheel moved just a little bit..... okay a big bit. This sucks. I guess I'll be doing a lot of measuring to see where things went wrong.

By the way, it's not easy to install a set of Moroso Trick springs. I'm not looking forward to getting those installed again. Doh!

I don't know, maybe I should just go with it and start grabbing my crotch when I talk to people. My pants ride low all the time anyway, but it's more from natural causes than on purpose.

Is that the K-member width, or the a-arm causing that?

Tire's on backwards, BTW. Wink

I don't know. I'm done for tonight. I took some quick measurements earlier and K-member and A-arms looked okay. But I'm going to redo it all tomorrow night being more careful.

Hey, increased track width is good, right?

Put some mud flaps on it and call it good.

It's had mud flaps behind the front tires for 19 years. Every last picture I have ever posted has mud flaps. It's not by accident that there is not a single rock chip on the side of the car. And it's not by accident that you never noticed.

Look again....

So is it the cross member or the arms? Can't be the brake kit. I'm betting on the cross member. I seem to always see problems about them.

Did a little experiment tonight. It's the brake kit. This is stock V6 spindles and brakes with all the BMR stuff still on the car.

Were there different spindles offered on 3rd gens or something? Is there a big brake kit that won't move the wheel out at all?

I've ordered wheel bearings from NAPA before and found out that there were two sizes available. IIRC, one was "heavy duty" and not a real common part. Maybe Travis is right about 1LE spindles being different and requires this larger "heavy duty" bearing. Maybe that spindle has a slightly larger diameter at the base and your bearing won't slide all the way on???

I doubt it. Twilightoptics had this on his car and he's a very competent mechanic. If the bearing didn't fit he would have noticed for sure.

Jon, did you buy these as bolt-on spindles from Paul, or did you just buy the brake components?

Notice the front tire of Paul's car in this shot:

Agreed. I forgot you got them from Paul.

Spindle and all. Just mounted it to my struts and A-arms. I did install new rotors from SSBC. They are same depth as the original rotor that came with Paul's setup.

I'm a bit perplexed at the moment. I guess I'll be doing a lot of measuring this weekend.

The wheel should only be pushed out the thickness of the rotor. I would still bank on the cross member not being built right.

Very odd indeed. Too many variables to guess right now. It all functioned on Paul's car, I wonder what went wonky when installed on yours.
