Most of the time when you look at those chips and you compare fuel tables with stock ones they look almost identical. Not worth the money!

I'm with stupid

Might net you a couple degrees of timing, and maybe turn your fans on sooner. That's about it. As long as there's no detonation, it should be fine to leave it in there.

You've got a V6 anyway. What kind of gains were you expecting to see? Laughing

Poor little six. I have a hypertech chip somewhere for the V6. Anyone want it?

I'll take it if it's free... Laughing

Probably won't be any difference, right? They're mostly just paper-weights?

Convert it to gen III aluminum heads. Then you can make some power.

Yes, I've been reading into it a lot the past couple days. I was just at pull-a-part yesterday, LOTS of 3x00 motors that look clean.

I have a 3.4 from a 95 Camaro, so I have all the crank-trigger stuff for the DIS. It's just the computer I don't get. That's the only road block I've come to, everything else I can do easily.

I'll probably see around 170-200+ hp with the 3.4/3x00 hybrid.

Why not just get an ECM and engine harness from a 3.4 pre-OBD2 4th gen F-body and just swap it out? Seems like the easiest route to me. Shrug

If I come across one, I will. But having 3x00 heads would be really nice. Or did you mean get that ECM for the head swap?

Hehe, you caught me. The time and money spent on a 60V6 should really go towards a SBC.

Found the chip. It's a Hypertech PN 121331 SN 514488

Wouldn't work for the 2.8 then?

It would work if you had the '91 SD computer. I converted mine, wasn't too hard.
