So i dont have the cash to put out for all the programing stuff i need right at the moment to tune my iroc.

im hopeing one of you guys around my area olympia,wa that has the equiptment if i buy a prom if we could meet up and help me get a chip made.

the initial timing is driving me nuts (i converted from an auto the manual. i beleave the timing tables are different and thats why it boggs a little when im letting out the clutch.)

anyhow let me know i would apriciate it much and i could come to you. met up and talk 3rd gen for a while!

Have you verified your actual timing?

I've run chips on both manuals and standards and seen no difference.

In fact most guys that convert to a manual, it works just fine.

Paul, on my '87 the stock idle/off-idle timing was like 20* straight across for an auto, but the manual dropped off on the high end of the scale.

I bumped it up to about 26* till 1200rpm, then ramped from there as usual, and it made a huge difference in the feel of the clutch. Much less bog than before.

ya, had to burn a chip when we went from auto to standard
I was able to drive it, but it would stall out when you came to a stop and held in the clutch (stop lights)

Could also be a VSS issue. Without it getting a good signal your timing will be retarded, and your idle will start creeping up at lights.

yea. it just boggs just a little if i do a soft launch if i keep the rpms higher when i take off its fine but on a soft normal launch you can feel it.

base timing is good.

beyond tunning for the swap just generally it needs some things changed from no a/c and smog.

but if anyone can help me that would be sweet. let me know

IAC params are generally quite different between auto and manual. Your best bet, in my opinion, is to find the stock bin for the new transmission style that you've changed to (e.g. start with the stock manual bin for the same year, engine, etc if you swapped to a manual transmission) and tune from there.
