I was out "logging" Laughing today. Dragging some nice alder trees out that the snow storm collapsed this winter. Since the newer tractor (its a late 50s model) currently needs an oil change(full of water from sitting outside all winter) I fired up the antique. It's a 1939 farmall M. Top speed 16.2mph, 26hp 4cylinder, 1495rpm redline, and will pull 4200lbs in 1st gear.. Talk about gearing! It's kinda fun. At one point I was pulling 4 logs and the thing didnt even grunt. These are the tree tops in the pic. Laughing

Wouldnt try, but they were known for flipping over and killing people. One of the reasons new ones are required to have ROPS. Was reading today that the coil spring that holds the seat up occasionally breaks.. tipping the seat over and dropping you into the implement.. Shocked So even though the things 70 years old and still works, they didnt quite have everything figured out.
