ok so a few days ago my car started havint issue my tranny leaks so i have to top it off every so often but the other day it started like slipping and not wanting to go into reverse then if i shut the car off and restart it it acts normal for a while but last night i did a full tune up and it runs so much better the i got it out on the road and pucnhed it and it pulled good through 2nd then at around 5k in 2nd it slipped and i leet off and it wouldnt go into any gear but if i slow down it goes into first and it iwll go into reverse so tonight i did a filter and fluid change and it made no difference except that it takes off smoother in 1st and it goes into reverse always but it still slips when it trys to shift and will onyl drive in first...im so lost _________________ Cadillac of Bellevue

Sounds like your converter is shot, the frictions in your trans are shot, and or your TV cable is getting stuck.
When you first did the fluid change, was it a funky color?
Does it smell burnt?
Keep your eye on it, I wouldn't be suprised to see it go black. |

Probably worth taking to a tranny shop to get diagnosed but sure sounds like your tranny is on the way out. How many miles on it?

| I would bet it's going out! My tranny went out a year ago and I dropped 2G's on a tranny that can handle a ton of power. Try a local junk yard or the parts trader, your cheapest bet. |

It's shot. Take it somewhere. Expect $1800 for a rebuild.
'87+ is a great core though.
IMHO hit http://www.700r4l60e.com/
You'll look at $1800 with converter and it will never break.
Then sell your core to Brandon : Chevymad |

If you don't need Overdrive... I'll have a full TH350 setup for sale real quick.
Works Great. Several crewbies can attest to how well it shifts. Recent rebuild. Even has a modified torque arm mount to lower the pinion angle for better bite on the asphalt! |

| Even if it does fix it, the metal shavings will still be floating around in the converter and will tear up something else (probably the converter itself actually). |

And that gear isn't metal, so it's something else that's worn heavily. |
