I got to looking at things under the hood and found the connector to my fuel pump relay is almost shot, well, totally shot. Three of the 5 wires are bare and the connector contacts are junk. I'm surprised that I didn't short anything out while messing around with the other relays and modules in the area. Anybody have one? I might find one in the junkyard, but no telling what shape it will be in.

Mine did the same thing after I pulled the 2.8L from the car. Did a little rewiring, connected the batteries, and smoke was pouring out of that connector. It had nothing to do with my rewire, I'm sure. |

I've got a grand new fuel pump relay connector you can have. Still in packaging. _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT

Most Chevy's I see have that problem. Design flaw in the connector, they should have used a weatherpack.
I've gotten to the point where I don't even buy new ones anymore when I find them, I just cut the wires and repin to run a standard Bosch 5-wire.
The other upside to this is that when the relay goes you can replace it for a few bucks vs. the GM proprietary ones for $25. |

| How much for the connector? Are you still in Poulsbo? If so, can I come up and get it tomorrow? |

You can have it for free. I accidentally ordered two (at least I received two. when I replaced mine a month or so ago. I still live in Poulsbo and I'll be home in the evening. probably after 5 or 6. _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT

I was going to say this. That style is notorious for disintegrating, as demonstrated by the number of people in this thread alone that have replaced/messed with them. I'd at the very least swap to a standard Bosch relay and the very most the GM weatherpack version. _________________

| I guess I missed you by about 15 minutes, but your dad (I suppose that's who he was) knew what I was there for as soon as I mentioned it. Exactly what I needed, thanks. |

Yeah sorry about that. We forgot that we had planned to go to the races and we were late. Anyways I'm glad that it was the right one. _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT
