				| Probably not as bad as John's, but bad enough. Looking under the car while idling and it almost looked like the rear main seal leaking. I know it's possible, but with just 50K on the motor I kind of doubt it. It was dripping all over the oil pan, K-member and Y-pipe and burning off with the hot exhaust. I got to looking a bit more and found where I think the leak is. The block that the oil filter and OPSU are mounted to is leaking where it meets the engine block. Since it's time to change oil anyhow, I may as well do this at the same time. Just have to keep it full until next weekend. _________________

				| Had to order the gasket anyhow, so looks like I have to make sure it stays full for the next day or so... | |

				| That, I think is taken care of. The job actually wasn't all that difficult, except for scraping the old gasket away from the block - no good angle to get there and no leverage to scrape. And I got a nice burn on my wrist since the motor was still warm, I would have lost daylight otherwise. Let her idle for a while, so far no drips and the oil pain which I wiped dry was still dry. | |
