|
|
Ok so last night i stripped out the hole the torque arm bracket mounts to...so i need to get the spohn crossmember and relocate the mount. I know i need the crossmember, but what mount do i need to buy for it?
On a completely unrelated note...when i'm at speed going down the road air blows through all my heater vents. And its hot. I'm tired of it!! Wtf is going on? Its already hot enough without that happening...I gotta tear out my dash to replace the heater core anyway so thats no problem. Is there a door that isn't closing in there somewhere...?
Help...Please? |

I bought the piece from UMI. Before completing the order, they have you also order nthe correct bushing for the torque arm. The whole piece bolts up really nice.
As for the heat. Since you've done a motor swap, I'm assuming you did away with the heater diverter valve. Its purpose is to reroute coolant away (or bypass) the heater core when the temperature slider is selected to cool. I'll be in the same boat when my swap is complete. _________________ 92 Camaro

I have the whole spohn tq arm and crossmember. It takes the traditional auto mount. |

I forgot about UMI. I figured Spohn had a better price that's why i went there first.
Yeah no more valve..even when everything is turned off air comes through though, is that normal? I didn't think it was..but maybe so.. |

Yes it is normal for air to flow thru due to the turbulence at the bottom of the windshield.
I get a tad bit of hot air thru mine, but it isnt any hotter then the outside air. |

The blend air door should shut most of the hot air off. Maybe its seal is bad, or it could have something caught in it. |

Like the good Master B says, if your blend control is turned to cold, air will still flow through but it should be cool air instead of hot. If your blend door seal is messed up that would make the air warmer coming out. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Well I went with the UMI piece. It looks somewhat adjustable so thats a plus, and i had more money than i thought i did.
I'll have to check out all my flappy doors back behind there then...what can i do if it does end up being the seal?? |
