Getting rid of the smog pump. EBL Flash doesn't support the A.I.R. system, so since it isn't being used, I'm getting rid of all that piping too. I can use the diverter valve solenoid connectors to turn cooling fan on/off with a little reprogramming of the code words. _________________ 92 Camaro

Do some research. IIRC you don't need a pulley for that. You need a shorter belt and to route it differently. You need an A/C delete pulley if you ditch the a/c. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I am pretty sure you need a longer best because of how its re-routed. The number Ian mentioned sounds familiar.
I'll also add....if you wanted to keep it, you should be able to make sure that it always flows to the Cat instead of the air tubes, then it should have no effect on o2 readings, but will help keep combustion temp of the cat up. If you run a cat, it might not be a bad idea, in theory the extra air should help the cat stay clean and not get clogged up nearly as fast. |

So cut the pump exhaust tube just before the diverter, then connect the pump to the cat with a hose to have constant flow to the cat? I can do that and get rid of the tubes on the headers. |

Because the smog pump is only on when it's cold/warm up. I remember somewhere in my training you don't want/need full time air to the cat. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| I thought the diverted pumped air into the exhaust manifolds during warm-up, then diverted the air to the cat after it warmed up. |

It's been a LONG time since I've played with one that had it's emissions garb on it. I thought I remembered the large lines were connected, pumped air into both?
Lots of cats are run without an air injection. I'd ditch the pump etc all together, and use that circuit for your fans :O) _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

The diverter actually dumps air to the atmosphere when not lined up to the cat. There's an exhaust just below the solenoids.

IIRC, when I bought this cat, I was informed that it would work fine without air injection. It's been like that since I installed the EBL. I'm leaning toward just cleaning up the whole passenger side of the motor and dumping the pump & everything, then pinching off the line at the cat. |
