Has anyone heard of this? i guess its supposed to ressemble the bmw's idrive system, i ripped a good 7" LCD out of a suburban the other day and had a random thought, probably alot more than its worth BUT here goes
I was thinking of taking the LCD display and wiring it to a small computer to use for like tunerpro, how would you integrate this? Again its probably a huuuuge hassle but i like to play with things, and the camaro dash has that awesome flat face to it lol _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

one word... netbook.
you could mount the screen anywhere. hell, use a nobi convertable and you have a touch screen too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpBABgG5i6s these little touch screen netbooks are a bargain at the sub $600 pricetag with a touch screen and a 1.6GHZ ATOM processor. 2GB of ram (upgradable max) and you are cooking with enough fire to run in dash navigation, MP3 player, and tunerpro. plus look shizzle up on wikipedia when the bridge is up. (with cell-phone tethering. |

Well we get some stuff rollin thru that I get for free so I was thinkin mainly a tunerpro app, I don't really feel like modding for a double din I've already done a custom setup for a civic and I molded/duraglassed/ sanded for a good 3 days straight lol I think cutting out for a screen would be easier, and its about an inch thick, it was a visor screen id just have to figure out a way to control it (mouse etc) and a good small piece of equiptmnt to load tunerpro onto, my over all goal would be an ebl flash integration, that would be awesome....actually now that I think about it the screen would be a perfect fit for the center console lid..... hmmmm _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

| Console lid... I see an elbow shaped break in the future for that screen. |

| Al has a netbook in his Camaro. He seems to know a lot about this stuff, although he's doing an engine swap right now... |
