What's an original fuel tank worth? $150?
Might be able to sell my stock metal tank to somebody local. Everything here in Illinois is rusted up. Good (perfect?) tanks like mine cannot be found anywhere. |

I think this is absolutely a regional thing, Jon.
Around here a fuel tank is practically worthless. I just glanced at my Pull-A-Part price list and they want $9 plus a $6 core. Hell, Mike gave me a tank for free because I bought the pump and pickup inside of it.
However, in rustyville that thing could be gold. Gotta call junkyards and find out what the going rate is. |

So basically you can get a tank for between $0-$3? Yowza! I took a random guess last night and asked $130.
But get this... The guy I was talking to found a tank for $100 and decided to take that one. That's actually good news because it tells me the prices are strong out here. |

Actually that's $9 + $6 so $15.
I punched up the Pick-A-Part in Summit Illinois (same company that owns the ones around here) and they want $36 out the door for a tank that has been in an Illinois car. Like I said, it's all regional. |
