...for the 89. Not as fancy or high powered as the 92, but better than the current system.

At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to use the space in the sail panels to make enclosures for these. They require .5 cf each, which is quite a bit for that area of the car. Maybe some expanding foam and resin to seal it up.
Next to look for is an amplifier to drive thes and the speakers I already have up front, and a set of line level converters so I can use the speaker level outputs of my deck _________________ 92 Camaro

Al, you already know I'll be watching this one closely.
BTW, I was pretty pleased with the Evolution 300.4 amp I was running in my old IROC. I still have it, and was planning on bridging the two rear channels to a set of woofers when it comes time for audio in the Z. |

Al, those are fantastic looking! and so slim, man good fitting for sure!
Dude you are all ready king of sound with Purple Haze that system is beyond sweet just so incredible!
Yea dude I'm with Aaron on keeping us posted with pics on how it goes.
That is the other area I have been toying with, a sub!!
You set the precedent for me on sound, and after rolling with Schultzy during dyno, I truly need to bust a sound move!
Way cool dude looking forward to a sound bite! _________________

I started on the project today and actually mounted the woofers. I didn't do an enclosure yet, I'm going to try them infinite baffle first and see what they sound like. They are connected and operational, but nothing impressive just yet as they only have deck power to them. I can tell there is bass and can't wait until I have them amplified and properly crossed over
Now I need something to power them (and my 4X6 dash speakers), and line level converters to change the deck speaker outputs to preamp.
I paid BluFbdy a visit at work today and he used some scrap lumber to make a mounting panel for me, which I promptly cut down to fit the 6X9 mounting panel.

Just found out yesterday that the Sony Xplod deck in my Camaro is no longer functioning. It will still eject and load a CD, but thats it. Guess the deck I got for the T/A will go in the Camaro instead. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

600 is peak power, I'll probably put about RMS 200 to them, They're rated at RMS 150.

Not yet, but I see some plastic trimming is in order to open the 6X9 "grille" area. _________________ 92 Camaro

| I figured the grill would have to go. I was thinking more along the lines of whether the cloth part would lay normally with all that stuff sticking out. |

| I'll find out when I put them back on. I want to replace the carpet material that's on all the plastics first. |

| Your car must have come with the "deluxe" interior, then? All GM did was cut and glue carpet. Should be pretty easy to replicate. |

I'd have to go look that up. It's an old Panasonic "Ghost Face" touch screen unit.
Edit: Found it. Panasonic CQ-HX1083U |

| Never really cared for the flip out screens on the ones that would fit. Too much fabrication for the double DIN units for them to look good, therefor too much cost. |

You, as an installer, should know you're not going to see them finished hear them, but not see them. I can't wait though to get them finished up. |

very true lol although thats why were gifted by digital cameras
so i got the idea for my new box its gonna be a pain to build, its gonna be kinda like your memphis 12 with a cover for it, but im gonna make it out of all mdf, pretty much like a prefab box that goes all across except half of it will be false for storage
to be honest i almost went nuts earlier because i couldnt remember how to do the math and i had to redo it a few times because it kept changing lol hopefully itll look good all done _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory
