If you're bolting an old into onto a newer 87+ head all you have to do is die grind the bolt holes. Just blow out the shavings real good and test fit. Grind/test fit/grind etc. Done this to dozens.

Holley used to make wedge washers for it too.

hmmm well the manifold i had in my car will fit the L03 motor but one of the thermostat holes is messed up, thats why i wanted a new one and this one i would have to grind it out in the opposite direction that i had to drill the other one out (one in my car) and there isnt much metal to work with in the outside part.

the manifold in my car now should be on my new motor and the manifold i just bought should be in my car

I think I'm confused.

If you just have a blown out thermostat hole, put a heli coil in it and caller a day.

ok my LG4 (in my car currently) has a new manifold, so its a new manifold on old block

my L03 (new motor) i bought a old manifold for it,

i can switch them but the threads inside the bolt hole for waterneck are destroyed so i just rammed a big screw in there and it works great lol

As Paul says. .install a helicoil in the stripped hole, or have someone install it for ya.. then use that manifold.

+1 on the heli-coil. Had to do one of them recently for my poor old T-5's shifter threads. Like paul said, if you're using 87+ heads on a 85-86 TPI manifold, its just a matter of widening the 4 center holes. Really not too difficult, Just need a good drill, or a die grinder. Paul helped me do it one of my manifolds, and there was no issue with Vaccuum leaks.
