You can fade the color as you mentioned.

But you have to clear the whole part. It doesnt work well fading clear. Or Ive never gotten it to look right and be happy with it.

I'm with stupid

I had to have a spot on my hood fixed due to a garage screw-up, they paid for the work. The spot was painted and blended, but the whole hood was re-cleared because it's near impossible to blend/feather.

Depends on where and what.

I blend clear out all the time, but you can only do it in certian places. If you hit the edge you can hide a clear blend on the corner.

A hood etc, you need to reclear the whole thing, no way to blend the clear out nicely.

But, blending colour out is super easy, just sand the whole thing down with 800 grit, and 600 where you need to put the colour. Then make sure the colour goes over the 600 grit scratches into the 800 grit.
Did I make sense?

You know, I'm really liking you Whiskeychick. Lots of good contribution to the Crew already. Cool Thumbs up

Now if we can just get you to stop using euro spelling for 'color' then we'll be set. Laughing

i never considered this as an issue. my GTA sits at stock pickup truck height, i scrape my air dam all the time, but never the nose. i guess you Camaro guys need to use more caution then we do when parking.

I've hit my bumper and front gfx before on my bird.

I either back in or don't pull in all the way, at school it is only front in parking which sucks.

I wonder if you can put clear vinyl on it to keep scratches off?

3M makes one of the clear plastics that you put on the front of cars to stop rock chips.

It works well for that, but if you bump your nose on things it doesnt help. Just gets ripped, and scratches go right through it. Doesnt help with spider cracking either.
