Whatever it is. I need the pin or bolt that goes through the clutch pedal arm/lever and connects to the linkage. Mine came out today while I was boarding the ferry. Strange feeling when you step on the pedal and there's no resistance what so ever Shocked it just swings from where it's mounted.

is it just a roll pin like what holds the distributor gear on the shaft of the dizzy?

I have a bunch in assorted sizes Al. If you'll be in Portland Saturday, you're welcome to look through em and see if one will work for ya.

All the thirdgens I'm familiar with, that have a hydraulic system.... the clutch master cylinder has a loop and the "pin" is welded to the pedal. From the factory the master has a plastic clip on retainer that holds it in place on the welded pin.

Most of us have replaced that plastic clip in retainer with the metal outside clasp type found on older cars and the brake master cyl to pedal.

Found the loop on the end of the master actuator, there is also a hole in the pedal for what looks like should be a pin. I wasn't able to look for much as I was on the boat and daylight was failing. Maybe tomorrow afternoon I can get a pic of the problem.

Here is a pic. The shorter one is the brake master. The clutch is the other that you can't see quite as well, but the concept is identical. Go get a brake clasp.

Thanks Paul, looks like what I need. Do I need to relieve some pressure from the master so I can line up the holes? I tried to line them up earlier while on the boat, the master doesn't move very easy.

Same thing happened to me when I owned Jame's Z28. When I finally got the new pin in and pressed the pedal, it came right out again. Turns out the pin breaking was a symptom of the master cylinder crapping out. Sad

Don't think I can offer any assistance here.

This. The MC will be hard to press down but you should be able to do it. If the rod doesn't move down you may be needing a new MC. Have you replaced that one before?

Ian, I called to see if you were home, I wanted to show you the EBL system hooked up, pretty nifty, but still alot of learning to do.

I think this has been part of an ongoing problem. Just replaced the slave as it was leaking and took the throw out bearing again. The pedal has been a little "loose" and would not engage the cruise cutoff switch at the top. I would have to pull the pedal to the top of its travel to get the cruise to engage, but as soon as I let go, it would fall enough to disengage the cruise. Ian, you may be on to something, I wasn't able to get the master to move last night, but I was in a rush being still aboard the ferry

Found the problem. The clasp came off and I've no idea where it is. After removing the switches from the brake and clutch, I was able to clearly see what I need. The stud is still on the pedal with a broken up plastic or nylon bushing around it.

Here's my problem...

Originally, I thought there was a pin to go through the hole at the upper right of the picture, but that put a rather radical angle on the master cylinder, so I looked a bit higher and you can see what I found. Is this available at a parts store? Or do I go junkyarding?

Looks like the eye on the master rod is wallowed out. Had that happen on my F-150. Moron engineers at Ford made the thing out of plastic. Shocked

I think so because that bushing is pretty shot. Next weekend, it's a trip to the yard to find those parts and any others that I "might" need.

No T5's at McChord with masters left in them. Could go to Tumwater, but that's a drive.

Master is fine, just need the clip that holds the linkage/piston to the pedal. The one on the brake pedal should work fine too.

If you just need the clip, I probably have one or two. Looks in the pic like the eyelet on the master linkage is crapped up though.

Doesn't look all that bad for 20+ years of use. That's the only wear on it that you see.

A couple more close ups

The other side
