| The cross laces are your limitation. Only a couple of options with those. I think Schultzy has the biggest that fit under those. Check his garage or maybe he'll post up. |

I agree. With GTA wheels, you are limited. I think schultzy is running 12.4" rotors, with wilwood FSL calipers.
If you change out wheels then you have lots of options. If you want to join the arms race... the new hotness in the crew is 14" or larger rotors, and brembro or c6 ZO6 calipers.
You are really only limited by how much room you have under the wheels, and honestly that only limits rotor size. My best advice is to go with a 4 piston setup. Doing away with the floating caliper design, used on most GM cars, is the best move.
Wilwoods will be the best bang for the buck in this type of caliper, if you had more room than you could look at OEM Porsche, Z06, CTS-V, etc. But with the small rotor size wilwood is the way to go. |

Hey Mike,
Like they said, not a lot of aftermarket options with the crosslace. Dan (Alloy) did a lot of experimenting with LS setups. Problem with the 16" crosslace over the 16" IROC or others is that there is a taper inside of the crosslace which limits clearance.
Ed Miller on TGO had fabbed up a few setups and the Wilwood FSL 4 pot calipers seemed to be about the best you could do in the space. I also used coleman rotors with Wilwood aluminum hats. Big difference. Still haven't run a road course but a few of my favorite roads which would induce heavy fade on the stock setups didn't cause any issues with the new setup. Dropped quite a bit of weight off the front end as well.
Outside of that or another similar setup, you are on to aftermarket wheels. I love the crosslace look on my GTA so I went this route.
Lot's of brake experience on the board with different setups though. Good luck in your quest!

I've heard that the stock crosslace wheels fit over the C5, I can run mine down to your place and see if the wheels fit over C5 and LS1. I.m working tomorrow, but free on Sunday. _________________ 92 Camaro

| Iroc rims and the stock formy wheels have alot more room behind them then the crosslaces. When Dan was testing setups we tried both my wheels and mikes laces, mine fit, mikes didnt. |

I'll add that there is a lot of brake knowledge around here and second Schultzy's wilwood setup. About the only thing you can do with the crosslaces. They're awesome wheels but have horrible clearances. Now if they made them in 17, 18, 19" sizes... _________________

| C5 is out for the front. I went over to Mike's today to see if his wheels would fit over my brakes. Not without alot of grinding on the caliper, and then it still may not fit. |

Have you seen these 18" Grand National wheels this guy had custom made over on the Pro-Touring boards? I found this link on the Wheels and Tires forum on TGO.

I respect Dean for he is a wealth of knowledge that seems to rub a lot of guys the wrong way (which, I admit, is kind of funny sometimes) but you can get a lot wilder than his brakes.

I would put money on them no clearing GTA wheels. Did you try Mike's wheels on your car? |

Weren't the C4HD setup that Dan originally had the ones that went on Paul's car? If so, I believe those were the first that we tried with the crosslace. No bueno due to the taper.
Maybe Dan can chime in and confirm or slap me around a bit. You know, Dan, the guy in denial with the red camero.

No worries. I just thought that Mike was trying to get an upgrade that would fit under the stock crosslace wheels.
