I'd love to do a dmax swap into an old boat. _________________

All that work to hide the trunk battery, but the engine is out there in plain view.
Badass nonetheless. |

I wonder if I can do that to the Malibu!
That in transom audio setup is killer.
Edit; Where is more info on this? |

Ehhh... not so much. We are just now seeing Audi and Peugeot come out with diesel engines that are physically capable of spinning high enough to get an accurate measure of "horsepower". All calculation of hp below 5252rpm is just that, a "calculation". Doesn't equate to power. Drive gasser trucks for years, then jump in a diesel and you get a pretty good idea of that. |

I had the chance to drive the most bad ass diesel engine I have ever seen today. My truck is in the shop so the boss has me take his personal truck down to Eureka today.
Same size CAT engine as my truck, which is rated at 450 hp, but was able to pull every mountain 12 - 15 mph faster than my truck with an equal load. It was insane to drive, and the sound was incredible. Dual 7" straight stacks and a shat load of turbo whistle. Finally asked the boss and he said that last overhaul he had ceramic coated pistons, bigger turbo, and bigger injectors from Pittsburg Power installed. Then a bunch of work on the injection pump done. Has to be around 700 hp.
Pretty neat truck though, slammed to the ground, 100 clearance lights ( I counted, lol), and nice interior. |
