So on the way to work today, the Jimmy gets stuck in 1st gear.
Occassionally it shifted into 2nd, but never anything higher. Get to work... Fluid is black! Yum.
What's worse, is the Camaro doesn't have a muffler for driving around purposes
Rollercoaster baby. Ups and Downs! |

I got a TH350.
Sucks though, you don't really NEED mufflers. |

That sucks Paully.
I myself have sung the 700 blues - lots-o-times until I banished them from my world.
I agree with Hammer, run it like it is ohh, ohhh.... if you are getting flames out the back with full exhaust imagine the flamage with no mufflers or pipes.
Fire is cool hu hu hhhhh huh hu /beavis

| I thought I was seeing things, until about the 3rd time his tail-pipes flashed when he let off. Looked like a little turbo car. |

Well, talked with the local tranny shop. They rebuilt the 700R4 that was in my car before I opted for the TH350. It would vibrate real bad when down shifting. He's had it for a year, and says 75% of the parts in there are still cherry. Should be after only 10k miles.
He thinks the Torque Converter died in the Jimmy.
So he said if I pull the 700 out of the Jimmy, he'll combine the two, and replace whatever needs to be replaced for a total of about $200 +tax. He said he'll check out the old converter too. Might just spring for a new one of those, be $500 into it with new parts and corvette servo.
Made me much happier and non worrysome.
AND I can still get exhaust done. Also, the boat's not coming home for a week now, so I'll have the garage to finish up the exhaust! Will order last parts tomorrow after I figure out what muffler offsets I need.
No thanks for the Th350 Rod, I've got one without overdrive, and that hurts the MPG pocketbook enough lol |
