So I finished wiring up my new TPI swap. Or, at least I thought I had. I have tried to fire it up and when I turn the key to "on" the fuel pump kicks on and stays on sometimes for 10-15 seconds, sometimes indefinately, the SES kicks on for about a second and goes out, and I am not getting a spark. I've checked my voltages and I'm getting power to the ECM where I should, and grounds where I should, and I'm getting power to the coil as well. Is there something simple I could have missed? This setup worked just fine in the donor car I pulled the engine from, I had everything stored in boxes so I'd hope this stuff didn't break while sitting.
Will the ignition still at least fire the plugs if the ECM or Spark Controller took a crap?
About the SES light, anyone know if the TPI ECMs used a light driver in between the ECM and the light itself? I know my 83's computer did but it would make sense to me for it to go out when the computer turns on if the signal is inverted or something like that, I still have mine routed through the driver. |

| If you have 12V at the coil, start looking at the coil itself, the ignition module, or the pickup coil in the dist. |

| Is there anyway to actually check the distributor or the spark controller? |

ECM is out of the equation when cranking and with the ECT connector unplugged. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
