Re: 86TA 5.0 TPI
Trying to locate the harness/plug that this sensor connects to. The manual puts it near the EGR harness near the rear passenger side of the engine compartment, but i can't find that either. Manual says its a weatherpack plug (2 prong which makes sense). Any picture of the plug/harness and the location would be helpful. Thanks, _________________

I seem to remember mine coming out of the injector harness.
I would dig back through the harness to see if it's in there farther back and someone cut it to do a MAT relocation, or just cause they were morons. |

Aaron, you happen to remember what color the wires are? There are a couple of cut wires back there and that is the only sensor not hooked up right now. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

I remember forgetting to hook up the MAT sensor when I did the HSR swap because it used a 8-10" long jumper harness for some reason. Does your have that jumper? The sensor connector is the standard on but the connection to the harness is a standard 2pin GM weatherpack. _________________

I want to say the wires were dark blue and black, or dark blue and white.
If I could find either of my flipping shop manuals around here I'd be able to tell you for sure. |

That kinda makes sense as there are 2 weatherpack plugs near the front near the 9th injector harness plug. _________________

| Alldata says the MAT, TPS and CTS all connect to the same ground wire. If you could chase that you could find it. Harness is from an '86, right? Looks like tan and black are the wire colors. |

that's what my 85 manual pointed out too, but it started getting confusing due to the supposed location. Thanks! _________________

| My 87's wires come out of the harness just to the passengers side of the distributor. One wire is black and IIRC the other is green. Has to replace the harness extension when I did the H/C swap, crushed the wires. |

If it's of interest to anyone I have a spare MAT sensor and harness. _________________ 2010 Cobalt LT
