Keeping in line with James' idea for the 3rd Sunday of each month, I thought I'd put this out for consideration. It is quite a drive for everyone, including myself.
I checked out a BBQ spot today in Port Gamble, and it is quite excellent. I thought lunch and hang out in Port Gamble, there are quite a few spots for pictures )if the tourists would stay away ). Or, take a back roads cruise to the Naval Undersea Museum at Keyport (where I took one of my signature pictures).
Doing the cruise might take some coordination, the BBQ is open from 11-6, the museum is 30-45 minutes away to the south and is open from 10-4 (it's free BTW). Access to Highway 3 is easy from either place for the trip back home.
MIke's BBQ has its own website...

The pointer on the map is off a bit. The place is in the lot between Olympian ans Talbot, about 2 blocks east. _________________ 92 Camaro

That's why I put it out early for consideration We can move it one way or the other, Apr 11th or 25th, or put off for some other time. |

Are most of you guys draggers? Any road racers? I'm not big into drag racing, I like road racing a lot more. Anyone planning a road track day? _________________ 1986 Camaro Z-28 IROC-Z 350 swap |

Not likely. Most of us do enjoy drag racing as it's a fun, proven way to measure improvements to our cars, not to mention it's the cheapest form of racing in terms of entry costs. If you've ever done a track day at PIR or at least looked into it you'd be quick to understand why it's not a regular event for us. Just about the cheapest HPDE event is around $400 per person and they can get up to and over $1000. However, a couple of us have expressed interest in going to such an event. Autocross is another thing we could consider and is substantially cheaper. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

I've looked into track days, and think it's well worth the expense. I'm building another car to go road racing, looking at doing the Silver State Classic, and some other similiar timed races on closed public roads. I'd love to take the Iroc out on the track too, just for fun, since it's my Daily Driver.
I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll start a new one seeing if anyone is interested in doing something at the Portland road course. _________________ 1986 Camaro Z-28 IROC-Z 350 swap |

There are several of us who will show up for a HPDE event at PIR, or even at ORP. |

This would be a perfect trip for me. Should have the car done tonight or tomorrow. But, of course, my ship gets underway near the time of this and I can't make it. I'm very near this area, like 5 or 10 minutes away. Not the end of the world I guess I just have bad luck with these. I'd really like to make one of these in the June time-frame. I should be home that whole month. |

I'm down for this as it fits into my budget verses spending a bunch of money watching other people enjoy thier cars. I suggest that we perhaps meet up at the McDonalds on 6th Ave. (before the bridge) around 10 and we can be over there by 11 easily. Dont forget your 4 bucks or whatever it is if you don't have a Good to Go Pass. It's a nice drive and just not in a straight line like I5. _________________

Close for me, just a trip on the Edmonds-Kingston ferry!
I also might have my firebird going by then (if I can find tires for the front). _________________

I might be able to attend, just a quick trip across the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry and a small drive south. Hopefully weather will cooperate! _________________ 1986 IROC Z-28 |

Weather can cancel a lot of those ferry runs, as can the tides. Do you still need to reserve a spot in line for that ride?
Hope to see you there _________________ 92 Camaro

Don't have to reserve spots, they just allow you to. I think they keep 10 spots per run open for reservations only. _________________ 1986 IROC Z-28 |

I'm down for the meet, but I'd rather catch a ride with someone. Seems kind of silly to drive my big ass truck all the way up there. |

So what day is this? You can count me in if I'm not working. You guys can stop by here if you want, it's on the way. I have 15 old chevys in just one of my buildings that you might want to see, let me know, I can work out the details with Al. _________________ DJ |

Well, the title says April 18th, and I would tend to believe it.

Nice. I'm down for this. Al has regaled us all with tales of your garage. |

Hey Aaron, maybe you could come up to my place, then either ride with me or take my other ride

No changes yet, and hopefully there won't be.
If everyone is into seeing the undersea museum, we could either stop at your place between lunch and museum, or after. I would suggest after since the museum closes at 4pm. |
