So I had my car at school checking the emissions on the 5 gas machine, I figured I would tinker around and figure out a way to pass since my tags are up soon.
Baseline -
HC 700-800ppm
CO .8
I pretty much expected this because my cat is blown out... But anyway, first I retarded the base timing to about 4* ATDC (I think, there is no mark there) lol That got it cut down to this-
HC 250-300
CO .4
So almost there, I then bump up the idle to 950RPM and watch the numbers fall!
Passed at DEQ with 116HC's and the CO at .2 _________________

Nice job. You didn't even have to do some of the others things that help out also! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Cool man! Retarding timing works wonders on emissions testing _________________ 1998 Grand Prix GT | 12.91 @ 103 - Sold/Retired

| Quit bein all jealous Skyler, the last person who had your car really messed it up, they obviously hacked it together just to have it run, probably didn't care about emissions.... |
