ok, going to list out the parts, let me know if I am missing anything. I know 2 items I'm missing listed at bottom...
Headers/ypipe, Hedman 66481
Kitty cat, Magnaflow 94219
Mid pipe, Dynomax 44063
Axle loop, Dynomax 43248
Muffler, Flowmaster super 44 (not sure on # yet, single in, single out)
Dump, Dynomax 3" 41095 or 4" 41097??
Misc crap.
Ball socket set for cat to mid pipe, Flowmaster 389-15930
2 set 3bolt flange Hok-11430hkr
1 3b flange hed-15300
2 o2 bung prf-60406
1 bung plug Inn-3735
1 flex pipe psm-82-4218
some 3" pipe I should beable to get local.
Missing
Air tube caps tell I get to what I have planned for them
Tab down by the cat, to use the trans bracket. Anyone make that?
Explain few things.
1. I want a single in, single out muffler, and not see the pipes at all. Dunno if I should go with 3", or 4" dump? Also, I think the flow44 is sounds close to the flow80. Any other suggestions on mufflers?
2. 3bolt flanges is for 2 spots, back at the muffler so I can swap mufflers with ease if I dont like sound. Also down around the cat, so I can take it out when offroad . Thats also what ball flanges are for.
3. Flex pipe is also for my offroad pipe Or do you think just having the ball flange between two sections is enough? _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Flowmasters suck, dude. All drone and no power.
I've run Magnaflow before, but they're just too quiet for me. I'd run a Hooker Aerochamber if I was building another f-body. |

^^^^ ^^^^
Borla's are nice too.
Y pipes sound icky with single out. Use two pipes and exit them behind the bumper to further decrease potential drone. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Flows have the deepest tone.
Magnaflow is to "poppy" from whatI have heard.
Aerochamber, will search on.
Ive been searching on borlas on a fbody, very few on a 3rd gen. Still not as deep as flow, but not bad.
Twilight, I dont want to see the exhaust. And almost everything I have owned had y-pipes, single in, single out. Sound just fine to me. Also, single in single out generally flows better then single in dual out. |

It's all personal opinion.
Many on here will vouch that the Aerochamber has a much deeper tone than a flowmaster.
Apples to apples though. I've heard decent flowmasters on a 3" I setup on a 305 that sounds like poop on a mild 350. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Based on?
They've been quieter at idle than Flows on 4 rigs I've personally done. And several at the shop. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I've heard the Aerochambers on a few crewbie cars, and they're not louder, just lower in tone.
Flowmasters sound fine when you blip the throttle, it's that 1800-2200rpm cruise in fourth that just drives you nuts. |

I will say that I put an aerochamber on my 4.0L Jeep. It had the loudest drone I'd ever heard from 1500-1900RPM. Obviously this is native to that muffler on that motor. I put the cat back on infront of it and the drone went completely away without sacrificing the sound.
Haven't seen this with Dual or Single in dual out mufflers on the V8s so far. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

3 youtube clips.
I dont know a single person with aerochambers. Everyone in this area is pro-flowmaster. I like the sound of my 80series, but it doesnt come in single in single out.
But I am building this so I can changer mufflers. So I need to pick one to buy upfront, if not happy, I can order another. |

I agree that the sound will be different depending on setup. I had a flowmaster 80 on my LT1, sounded good. Single 3 in dual 3 out. Did not like the magna flow on the V6, Long glasspack sounded way smoother. You just need to start somewhere and experiment. The 454 is still straight pipe. Might get a 3.5" muffler someday. Someday..... _________________ E30

| Magnaflows are just fat glasspacks. For the money, I'd rather have glasspacks. |

| I love the sound of the aerochamber on my 87. It's single in, dual out though. The 327 also sounds a bit different then a 350. The flowtech terminators I used on my 454 were very deep sounding, but loud. Of course they were dual 3" too. I've had flows on my truck for almost 15 years now. Just sounds like everything else on the road. |

JMHO, didnt care for the sound of the Flow Master on my wifes 90 ( 350) convertible. It sounded decent at idle but sounded like a shot Midas muffler at every other RPM. I put a Borla on it. It is a little louder at idle, quiter at part throttle ( minimal droan/ deep sound) and opens up at WOT ( loud, higher pitched tone).
I have a SLP 2OTL on my 87, it is loud on at idle ( really deep tone), loud at part throttle (deep tone, lots of drone) but at WFO the deep tone dissapears and and it really quites down. I had my brother drive my car last summer and pass by me at about 70 mph ( top of 2nd gear) and I was suprised at how quite it was. It had a slight deep rumble but was not as loud as I thought it would have been. |

| Spintech is another option, sounds great on my brothers 05 GTO. It cancels out most of the low end tones and openes up at WOT. |
