Ok, this is for my Taurus wagon but the Taurus forum won't let me login. Anyway, last weekend James and I replaced the radiator and now whenever I turn on the heater or defroster steam fills the passenger compartment! I am thinking its the heater core, but it didn't puke onto the passenger side floor so I'm not sure. Anyone got a clue whats up? _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

It will. A lot of times they'll blow steam before they completely let go. Think of it as a friendly warning sign.
You probably knocked something loose in the system during the flush. For now just bypass it. 36* isn't that cold. |

My 89 did the same thing a couple of years ago, steamed up the winshield and smelled of antifreeze. I decided to spend the money to get it fixed, but the garage couldn't steam up the cabin, said it wasn't bad. Couple of weeks later it went out. _________________ 92 Camaro

This one will fill the passenger compartment of my wagon to sauna-like conditions in a few seconds! Not as easy to bypass as on a 3rdgen, but I'll have to do it for now. Just changing the radiator was a 3 hour project for James and I. We did the radiator in his Camaro in under 5 minutes when it let go at the emissions test station! I think Ford engineers were afraid the rad might just fly out of the car as it drove down the road!!! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

We didn't flush the system...just drained it and added 2 gallons of 50/50. _________________
