Did you test the motor to confirm it's not the relay or harness?

A new fan motor for a dual fan setup is only $25 at schuck's if it is the motor that's bad. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

I forget what I pulled mine from at the junkyard. The fellow behind the counter looked up what had the same fan motor and directed me to the area of the yard to pull it. After not being able to pull that particular motor, I looked around and found some same motors on a couple of other cars. I pulled two and had them tested only to have one smoke and one good one.
The good one is in my car now, but I have since gone to NAPA and bought a new replacement motor for about $25 IIRC, about $10 more than the junk yard motor. When I get around to it, the NAPA fan motor is going in my car because the junker will fail eventually. _________________ 92 Camaro

Considering your time spent in the wrecking yard and changing out the motor twice because it may fail later, it's not really worth putting a used motor in for $10 less is it Al? _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

One of mine failed and I didn't even think about a used one. Some things you just buy new and never look back
Peace of mind knowing the new one wont leave me stranded is worth a lot to me. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

I checked the power and it's good, the wires get hot so i think something in the motor is shorted. It spins freely however. I only have a single fan setup at the moment, to clarify.

The motor is just worn out then. Buy a new one and be done with it for many years to come. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

I still need to replace mine with the new one I have. It's part number 655-1588 at NAPA and my receipt says $30 for a single fan setup.
