anyone give me an honest answer as to the PITA level of swapping the rear seats from the split rear to solid? If its as easy as a straight swap then I would be interested in the rear seats pictured, mine are something close to being completely FUBAR and since Im tearing out the interior for new carpet anyway, well, might as well consider new 25 year old seats. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Pretty easy. You will ahve to add the slit seat bracket to your floor. I drilled out the welds then rivited back to the floor in the proper location. Or you can weld it in place
This was one of my first conversions. pretty easy _________________ kurfbird

It sounds like you are describing converting from solid to split, I currently have split seats the picture looks like a solid, I might be mistaken about that though. So do I need to add the brackets, or will I need to remove them. I dont care one way or the other if the seats are solid or split, I just want good, clean unstained seats if they can be switched easily. Sounds like they can be. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

Sorry I read it the wrong way. Tired.
Yes its pretty easy to just drill out the welds and removed the bracket. _________________ kurfbird

Do you even need to remove the bracket? I have a horrible memory but I seem to recall my room mate used to have an 85 TA that we put 4thgen solid back rear seats when his originally came with split. Just bolted each side down? Worth a shot... _________________

@Greg, seats under seat covers have the normal tears, not in the best shape ill get pics today
@Al, car has no motor..... so cant really remove sensors from engine block, unless thats what all that wiring and stuff in the engine bay is
gettin more pics today |
the hood or wheels arent something that i need i just though they would be nice to fix up expecialy the hood to repaint but i dont have the money right now. i'll talk to my friend that needs the hatch and see if he wants it and i'll probaly take the floor mats if my friend wants the hatch so you dont have to come all the way down here.? are there rear mats? and what condition is the hatch and the mats? thanks. i'm in tigard. |
i have a set of actual camaro floor mats that are in perfect condition, if you just want the mats i can ship them to you....
and yes i do have the horn button for the steering wheel,
i took a ton of the black interior out of the maroon car today, most of it i will use in my car so that means i will have a lot of red interior stuff for sale soon
and switching from split to solid rear seats is pretty easy, just a bolt on each side i believe, so i would assume you would have to remove the split seat bracket
and i want to sell the lugs and center caps along with the rims _________________

Would you be interested in trading your perfect dash pad for my double adjustable panhard bar? Or the springs, either one. _________________ 1986 IROC Z-28 |

If the floor mats are still there when I get the mirror, I will take them. (the rubber Chevy ones pictured right?) I may also be willing to do some delivery of parts for people in Seattle/Whidbey area, but I don't plan on doing more then one run.
On another note, I saw the early black door panels and might be interested. (haven't ever seen them in person and don't know what you want for them.) |
