I replaced my broken housing today, the lens was cracked since the second day after I installed the lights. While I was at it, I replaced the #194 light bulbs for the halos with white LEDs. Much better look, instead of looking like dim yellow lights, I have a bright white halo.
Side by side after installing the LEDs behind the reflector...

Looks even better with all 4. A little camera movement here, but the look is there...

Do you have dual beam housings for your outer and inner lights Al? If so, how do you have them set up? All 4 on low beams and high beams, or only the outer two on lows? _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

They are all 4 H4 bulbs (hi-lo). the outer pair work normally as high and low beam and the inner pair only as high beam. I jumpered the high anbd low spades together on the inner pair to use both as a very bright high beam. It takes a little larger fuse and the housing might not like the heat, but high beams aren't on for a very long time anyway. _________________ 92 Camaro

I need new headlights and I wasn't liking the thought of more sealed beams. I've done H4/H1 conversions before, and I already have a dedicated headlight circuit with relays etc. on my car.
Your way is how I would do it. Thanks for the info.
EDIT: What about these? They're glass lenses and composite housings for just a little more money. With bulbs as well.

| I'm not familiar with those, but they look like the same style that Paul runs on his Camaro. Quite a bit more expensive than his e-Bay lights too. |

I'm wanting to do the diamond headlights with the h1/h4. Just waiting on a light to blow so I have an excuse to spend money |

3 of mine are cracked/chipped and get wet inside. I've been waiting to blow one as well, but they have all just kept working for over 2 years!
Finally time to upgrade, even if my stupid headlights won't break already. I'm sure I'll be amazed by headlights that don't suck.
I can't find any glass lens headlight housings on eBay for cheaper than the $100 for 4 with bulbs on Amazon. Plastic ones, including those Pilot brand Al has are there though. There is an overabundance of round projector style housings, but I hate the look of those. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

| FWIW, the Pilots I have do have glass lenses, however, the housings are plastic as are the reflectors. |
