Hell no it's not. Ever try and find one of those in the boneyard? Mexicans take them all and sell them on ePay.

I'd pay that and call it a lesson learned to be careful de-screening your MAF.

I tried to be careful, I think it was when I was trying to push it into the pipe.

So I am suppose to remove those screens, right??

My son's GTA needed a MAF. I searched quite a while and the best price I could find for a reman unit was $160. I bought it and he wrecked the car two months later. I will put the unit up for sale but even @ $160 it was a good deal compared to what everyone wants for these anymore.

If you have a deal for a working MAF for $60 go paypal the dude the money right now!

There are as many opinions on MAF de-screen as there are assholes on TGO. The PO did the one in my IROC and it worked fine for me. I did the one in my T-Bird and it made no difference at all.

Obviously if you would have left them you wouldn't have broken the wire though, so... Shrug

Jack away! It would be nice getting my mind off how much money I have been spending on my car lately.

My MAF is on its way to my house!!

it idles good and drives good.
engine light came back on though, with the same code.

I read in the book that the MAF produces a voltage of .5v at idle and 4.7v at WOT

I found the 12v wire, the ground, and 3 other wires

none of the 3 other wires had any voltage at idle or at WOT.

I think he sold me a broke MAF. Does my logic make sense?

A $60 MAF Sensor is too good to be true.

He ripped me off, so NEVER buy from ron reece or anyone with the last name reece on TGO.

New MAF Sensor and $80 core charge so $250 total, more then I wanted to spend. Oh yea, + $60 for broken maf and another $20 for "MAF cleaner" and shipping back to the scammer.

I don't even want to add it up.
