I am getting 2 new tires for the camaro for x-mas. I have requested atleast a 124mph speed rating as I can tell the difference even in normal driving. Plus I'm just not going to deny how I plan/do drive it.

Hardly, if ever, gets drove in the rain, but not looking spend major cash. Want to stay stock 235/55/16

Here are some tires, looking for some feedback.

Kumho Solus KH16

Sumitomo HTR H4 (I have these on my gp, 1st set lasted 55k)

Falken ZE502

Falken ZE512

i have both the falken ze512's and the new 912s you can not buy the 512s anymore they were discontinued and the 912 replaces it...fantastic rain tire...and not to bad on dry roads either...also not to loud on the highway...and they are affordable

I have the higher end Kumho Solus KR21 on my Subaru. I don't know about the cheaper one, but the ones I have come with an 80k mile treadwear warranty. And they're stupendous in rain/snow/dry. Best tire I've really ever ran for an all-season.

Sounds like you're going more for dry performance, and considering where you live... Laughing

I have a very similar Sumitomo on the back of my Camaro, and it sucks. The only time it works well is in bone dry conditions, and even then traction is questionable. Forget about controlling the vehicle as soon as the ground gets damp. But it sure gets more (sideways!) fun in the wet! Wink And the tread lasted less than 20k miles, though that could be a result of the crappy (sideways!) traction. Rolling Eyes

I just picked up a set of new Falken ZE502s to replace the Sumitomos and I'll get them mounted sometime this week. They look promising for me.

I guess after those anecdotal stories of tires I have that aren't quite what you're looking at, if it was me I'd buy the Kumho tire for value and all-season awesomeness. After looking at some reviews, it seems to be a bit cheaper than the others and still a good, quiet, comfortable tire. The Falken ZE512 or ZE912 seem to be a little more expensive, but oriented towards a performance tire a bit more, along with being a little heavier on the pocketbook. I will never consider another Sumitomo tire unless I could get an amazing deal on them.

Its only a dry weather car as the roof leaks and the wipers dont work. Havent drove it in almost 2 months due to the weather we have been having.

I was thinking that since the gp will easily turn the sumitomos, the camaro would likely not have a problem. So thanks for verifying that.

If you would, let me know on the 502's. I am not staying at home this week, so I wont be buying this week.

I ran some type of Kumho Solus on my S10 (you'd have to ask Al for specific numbers).

They were teh champion dry, and teh suck in the rain. That said, being on the back of a 2700lb truck with an open diff and me driving may have had something to do with that. Lil Angel

Solus HP4 Plus. They did well for me, but the car was lots heavier and not quite as tail happy as your truck Cool They were on the 89 when I bought it, the 305 had no trouble lighting them up with the posi, but overall a pretty decent tire with acceptable wet traction. They did real good in the snow we had last year on my 92 V6 car with the open diff. I'm sure Kumho has replaced them with a newer tire with a different name.

you shouldnt have any problem running a bigger tire then a 235/55/16 could prolly go same size tire as me the 245/50/16

the falken ze912 is a decent tire about a 100 bucks a tire in the 245/50/16 size threw sears
