But somehow I don't think I'll be getting into the red F-body club anytime soon... Rolling Eyes

It's fairly base-model (which I like), only options are the supercab, dual tanks, and A/C (it's getting deleted, trust me Razz

). I had to replace the IAC, TPS, and O2 sensors. Only 'mods' it's gotten yet are the Exide Orbital (with professional tiedown Razz

) and deleting the TB coolant bypass.

Thar be the gutless 302. Stupid turd has to get wound to the moon to get any power out of it. #$%^&*

The good news is that the Mazder 5-speed shifts nice, the BW transfer case works good, it has dual tanks, and new balljoints (big issue on TTB Ford trucks).

I wanted a diesel, but trying to find a 4x4 supercab shortbox Powerstroke F250 or Cummins D200 with a manual transmission in the Pacific Northwest is apparently like loking for the holy grail. You can find them, but it's gonna cost ya, and there's a million jackasses who want one too.

So I start reading on the feasibility of a Powerstroke swap, and learn that even guys with the PS or IDI diesel Fords are swapping 6BTs, which drives the price of those sky high. Then I start reading about some crazy stuff like this...

In 1970 my dad bought a F-100. 302, 3 on the tree with a cable op OD. Dual tanks and fun for us all going thru high school.

In the mid 70's he bought a nice 21' mercr Hammond open bow luxo-cruiser w/ the 302 marine mill. It lasted till my lil bro cut his nose after a biff on skis, my mom said sell it.

Then, after seeing my mom bus us around a 67 Tempest Custom wagon that he got new in 67, picked up a 78 Lincoln Versailles, yea with the 302.

Yeah, I've briefly priced out a dmax. I REALLY want a cruiser like your merc (although I'd rather a 60s cad/Biscayne/something) with a dmax/stick. Very Happy

Now that is a clean older truck! You need to give it a lift and tires though. I thought it was a 2WD until I saw the shifter in the photos.

There was about a month in between the IROC trans blowing up, and buying the S10 where the Monterey was indeed the daily. However I still officially owned a Camaro.
