anybody else on here into prerunners??

i go back and forth between F-bodys and prerunners. i drive my LS1 car, and fall in love with it for a few months, then drive the prerunner and fall in love with it.

i track day the camaro, and run the prerunner at the dunes, two totally different types of racing, but equal in adrenaline Smile

gotta love it.

When you say PreRunner, do you mean this kind?

...or this kind?

If it's legit, what type of front suspension are you running?

If I didn't dump every spare dime I had into the car or house fund I'd probably having a prerunner type rig as well. I'd love an s10 widebodied rig w/ an LSx and 24" of suspension travel. Laughing

Heck no! Drove it back and beat the crap out of it for awhile longer. Ended up selling it for $100! Almost 200k on it and it took almost a week of rev limiter bashing all day long at the dunes. I love free cars. Actually you'd be surprised the expression on some guys face when he's flying across the dunes @ 60mph and a little flamed crx pulls up next to him and scoots by. Laughing

yeah it's nuts doing it in a fullsize truck!

i had a long travel ranger a couple years ago, that's what got me hooked, now i have the GMC. it still tows, and it's 2WD so it still gets around 18mpg, it looks mean as hell, and it soars through the air just like the ranger did Smile

He's got some pretty fast cars.. they smoke black at the track and sound like shizzle but people still seem to hand him loads of cash to setup their import!

What year ranger? Pics? My buddy has a '91 ranger that he wants to prerunner out. Although we're ditching the 4.0 and going with a 5.3 GM motor. Very Happy

mine was a 94, ex cab, glass fenders, hood, and bedsides, stock 2.3 with the T-bird turbo setup! it sat on 31's, it was gutted like a fish, caged, and long beams in the front.

if you are trying to build a prerunner, for any sort of competition, a ranger is the only way to go. i went fullsize just because i wanted a really nice daily driver to jump around. plus i need to tow aswell. but my truck would cost $25k + to build again, as where you can do a ranger for half that!

i know a guy in portland who is selling a reeeeally solid start for anybody trying to get into a starter prerunner. it's an 83 ranger with all the long travel suspension, the equal length beams, front and rear glass, coilovers, whole 9 yards for $1000! there is NO way you could duplicate it for 3 times that. there is no motor or trans, but a VERY solid starter for someone looking to do a ranger.

If I lived in your area, I would be into that. Around here your best bet is trailing and/or mud bogging with all the large forest areas, mtns, etc.

The first time I jump I would likely crap my pants, then yell lets do it again!!
