so a long time ago i had the whole H4 thing put in with the halos, and they were really cheap...really cheap, but anyway the heat from teh lights melted the halos LED's cause someone decided to seal it with hot glue instead of silicone, so i need to open up the lights to reseal them and fix the wiring, anyone know how to bake open headlights??

My buddy Steve used to have a '97 LegacyGT that we heated the headlights open and painted the inside nonreflective portions flat back and it looked really good. We just set the oven to ~225 and put them in with the lens up and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Not too long though. With a flathead screwdriver it pryed off fairly easily.

Is the lens glass? Lay a cookie sheet down and put the glass on the cookie sheet.

What type are they that they have LED halos? The ones I have each use a pair of 194 bulbs behind the main relector for the halo, I want to replace them with LEDs. They have glass lenses though, and I need to get a new pair as one has a cracked lens.

Mine have LED's. When I first bought mine.... I had to send one of the 4 back 3 different times because one or more LED's were bad.

Cheap cheap cheap.

Those look like what I got. The beam umbrella is different.

Don't waste your time. Buy some Hella or Pilot housings or something.

I closed my hood one time with the headlights on, and one bulb burst!

Quite different than my Pilots.

With the halo on, keep in mind this isn't lit by LED, but a pair of #194 bulbs. They come with colored boots to fit over the bulbs (red, blue, green) Some 194 replacement LEDs would fit nicely in there though.

Construction - I took apart one with a broken lens

Is there anywhere that you can buy a rectangular CCFL ring? it would look much nicer than the LED or 194 lit bulbs and probably cause a lot less hassle.

Check out this guy's home made rings. I'm sure the same technique could be used to make rectangular halos.
