Sorry if this has come up before, or if it's well-known information, but is there any better brand of custom plumbing? Summit carries all kinds of it, AeroQuip, Russels, whatever.
I want to replace the mess of slightly less than NHRA legal rubber fuel lines under my hood, and relocate the regulator away from the head, but would rather not have a bunch of leakers shooting gas everywhere. |

If you're doing stainless AN stuff Aeroquip is by far the best, but you'll pay more.
Then I'd go with Russell. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I was thinking of AeroQuip's natural aluminum, or Russel's silver and black. We're trying to keep this at least somewhat old-school.
I need to go about 10" from the fuel line (5/16" steel not flared) to the intake on the Holley pump (5/16 NPT). About 18" from the pump/filter to the regulator (5/16 NT to 3/8 NPT), and another maybe 24" from the regulator to the Holley. |

Here is a list of NHRA legal non-metallic fuel line. You can have any length of any one of these specific lines:
Aeroquip FC300
Aeroquip FC332
Aeroquip FC598 - Black
Aeroquip Star Lite 200
AQP Socketless
Earl's Prolite 350
Earl's Prolite Super Stock
Earl's Ultra Flex 650
Earl's Diamond Lite
Gates LOL Plus**
Goodridge 536
Goodridge 710
Goodridge 910
Russell 836 Twist-Loc
Russel Pro Classic
XRP XR-31
XRP Push On - Blue or Black
XRP HS-79
Dayco-Imperial Nylo-Seal Tubing
Fragola Performance 8000 Push-Lite
Fragola Performance Pro Crimp I
Fragola Performance Series 8600 Parker Push lock
BTW the regulator needs to be at least 6" away from the firewall in order to be NHRA legal. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Sorry to dig up an old topic, but has anyone use the Aeroquip AQP socketless?
I went down to the local speed shop and talked to the guy there who builds custom stainless plumbing, and he gave it a fairly glowing review. From what I've read online, pretty much everybody who used it likes it. Has anyone on here used it?
BTW, Skyler, I see the socketless on your list of lines approved for over 12", but is the rubber line approved to run the length of the car to the tank? (i.e. past the bellhousing and exhaust) I have heard stuff about needing steel when going past the transmission. |

It's the whole car Aaron. Typically from the front of the motor it's a hard line back to the tank with a small section of rubber for flex.
You wouldn't want to run straight rubber that long anyways. It's dangerous and very Ghetto if you're doing nice stainless braided line before hand. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I apparently am having some problem with English this morning.
What I meant to say was is it okay to run the socketless line all the way to the tank, or should I run stainless from the tank to the pump, and the run socketless from the pump to the reg. and carb. |
