I'm still in need of a stereo for the vert. I am looking at 3 different options. All of them have pros n cons. Looking for more ideas, or thoughts. Also keep in mind every mp3 player I looked at uses SD cards, and my pc does not like SD cards
1. Kenwood 719dvd. 7" touch screen, can select the song I want rather then hitting "next". Plays movies, nav, sirrus, cd, mp3, backup camera, you name it. Pros You name it, it does it. Cons Theft, Price, no internal memory and will not run a harddrive in a portible enclosure, will have to get memory stick(s)
2. What Al on here just did. Delco deck, pie interface, mp3 player.
Pros decent anti theft ConsI will not beable to sort music the way I like. I also think after I buy everything, it will be fairly expensive(just short of option 1).
3. Have no stereo, just get a motorcycle amp(s), mount it in the dash and have headphone jack for a mp3 player. pros major anti theft, cost cons no fm tune ability, sound quality loss, still cant sort the way I like.
My largest disappointment in all my searching is that I can not find a car stereo that has any internal memory for songs. Surely adding some memory on one can be done. Or make a place where the user can bolt in a laptop harddrive. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Go with the 719, it has a removable faceplate so that should help with the anti theft aspect of it and that thing is pretty sweet. If I had that I could watch Charlie the unicorn take his adventure to candy mountain with both a good picture and good sound. Man life would be complete then. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

I've always been content with my *gasp* sony xplod deck. Had it for close to 8 years in my 87 and then my 91. It has an internal 10gig drive. Are there no options with internal drives anymore? It's so much nicer than carting around CDs...
What about a carputer type thing? _________________

| Ian, what model is your deck? I looked at crutchfield and none of the sonys listed now "say" anything about built in memory. |
