Your year make and model and engine.
It's 26spline but you need to get it for your car to avoid problems. Stay away from centerforce. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

If you're going to go cheap, just get an Napa clutch or something. Centerforce/ect. are garbage. Throwing good money on a basically stock clutch. |

unfortunatly i'm not made of money. So spec is out. But is a brute force better or worse than a napa or smucks brand? _________________

Had Centeforce in my IROC, Schucks brand in my Blazer, Autozone brand in my S10. The difference was negligible between the three IMHO. All launched decent but not great.
Never heard of "Brute Force" so I couldn't advise you on that one. |

The Borg-Warner that built the NWC T-5 is no longer the same company that makes that clutch. There is no correlation between the two. |

I had a Zoom clutch installed by Firestone in my 89 shortly after I bought it. Mine is a bit better than stock, I've been pretty happy with it, but now I think the throw out bearing is wearing out (squeeksqueeksqueek until I put a little pressure on the clutch pedal) Mechanic told me it was a street/strip clutch. _________________ 92 Camaro

I had a Zoom MU stock replacement style clutch from Summit. It was great for $89. Held up to my ~250whp for almost 3 years. No slip.
Al, the squeaksqueaksqueak might be the pivot ball that your clutch fork rides on. I had that problem, a little white lithium grease where the pivot ball meets the fork solved it permanently so far. Just gotta peel the dust cover back a bit. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

+1 on that. It's a fairly well known issue with those. When I bought my S10 clutch there was a warning paper about it thrown into the box. Like a dumbass I ignored, and mine does the same thing sometimes at idle. |

Hmm Always seen the squeal with a hydro setup clutch out to be the TO bearing. Push clutch in, squeek goes away. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Pushing the clutch in puts pressure on the pivot ball, stopping the squeak. Either way, it's cheaper and easier just to grease that pivot ball and see if it helps. Both of my Camaros have had this exact same problem and it was always the pivot.
If it doesn't help, you're one step closer to finding the problem, now likely to be the TOB. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56
