Well, its been 40 years. I wasn't alive for it, but the going to the moon stories still fascinate me.
Figured an event like this deserved a post, and of course at least one pictures.
Happy Anniversary Apollo 11!!!!

Construction boss was talking about this over the weekend. He remembers watching it on tv.
One small step for man, one large step for man kind.
RIP to all the lost ones in the process. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| Did you see that NASA actually lost, then taped over the original footage?? They've been looking for it for the last 3 years for this anniversary. Finally found 4 tapes of news footage that were fairly original and are digitally restoring that. |

I did see that Brandon. I was a little disapointed to see that none of the major networks had any specials or anything on TV today.
I did see that Nasa is broadcasting the original mission control audio for the entire mission from their website. |

i have a social studies report my mom did in highschool. Has newspaper clippings of most of the apollo launches. Back in the day when you could go to the moon on a processor the same speed as my calculator.... _________________ E30

I gotta say I am more than a little envious of those millionaire types that go up with the russians. Wouldn't you really love to go up just once. Not necessarily to the moon but even just up into space for a few orbits would be a real rush. Just let me win that lotto and I'd pi$$ it away on a 2010 Camaro and the Russian space program. |
