I'm selling my LT1 style t56 for 700 obo. It does need to be rebuilt. It comes with the bell housing, clutch fork, flywheel, b&m shifter, and a cross member that is made for third gens to convert them. I'll even throw in a clutch kit.

Marginal interest. What's wrong with it that it needs rebuilt? I don't have the money right now, but I do want T56 someday.

Its stuck in 4th gear. You can still turn the input shaft and the output shaft spins. I don't know exactly what's wrong with it. Maybe someone on here would have a idea.

After a little research, it appears it could be the silly shift forks bent or bad synchro keys. Common problem apparently.

Apparently the fix is getting new billet synchro keys and a new steel shift forks.

Is the flywheel for a two piece rear main seal or a one piece?

I had the same problem when I grenaded mine. New steel 3-4 shift fork, new bearings, new synchros, sliders/blocker rings, a shim kit and about a week of tinkering after work and I had it back together. And after having to swap input shafts/front plates to mate to an LS1 I cut the tear down time to about 2 hours. It's kinda fun actually. I'd help you rebuild it if you bought the parts; then you could sell it for more. Very Happy If I had some cash I'd probably offer some bucks to have a spare around.

Yup. Broken 3-4 shift fork. They're small and made of aluminum. The standard replacement now is Steel.

I would take you up on that Ian but I think I'm going to sell my Iroc also. If I was going to keep it I'd say hell ya. But I need to get a reliable car that is good on gas for when winter comes. I have my fun on my bike now. It totally ruined cars for me all together.

Man, I'd be all over this if I hadn't been spending major bucks on my fuel injection conversion. Also as part of my rebuild I'm buying a new clutch for the T5...

I guess this is just the wrong time. Rolling Eyes I really want 6 gears eventually though.

Rock the T5 til it breaks! Not my DD anymore, so no problem when I grenade it... Very Happy
