Check out this link.

Look at the last car in the first picture, it is a Ferrari F40. I watched that car DESTROY a honda S2000 on the I5 express lanes north of Seattle several years ago. I cant believe he drives it on the street.

That would be such a cool group to see drive by. But with cars like that i think they can afford a speeding ticket or two without breaking the bank. Laughing

I want to know why they got a ticket for "speed racing". 100mph is nowhere near the speed they would be going if they were indeed "speed racing". I dislike greatly when police officers get to use their opinion for giving you tickets. Just because there were several cars speeding doesn't mean they were racing. Give them a speeding ticket and go back to your donuts. GRRR! The other ones I dislike immensly is driving to fast for conditions, accelerating too quickly, loawienfksj!!!!!!!!!! Who they hell are they to say what my or anyone elses intents were? Evil or Very Mad They can't read minds! Give tickets for real things, not what you interpet or feel like that day.

what is the deal with the F40's wing. It is probably functional with that multi-element airfoil, but the rear wing on the F40's is so iconic, it is weird to see one with a different wing.

I would be thinking more along the lines of them being able to afford a good lawyer and get off on it. The state will be lucky if they $25 apiece in court costs from those guys.

100mph?

They're lucky they didn't get there cars towed/impounded.

Triple digit speed on Oregon roads has been deemed a felony as of 2006.

Go legislature....

Not unless you're under the age of 18. I know that for a fact.

ORS 811.109
-------------------------------
(5) If a person drives 100 miles per hour or greater when the person commits a violation described in this section, a court shall impose the following in lieu of a punishment otherwise imposed under this section:
(a) A fine of $1,000; and
(b) A suspension of driving privileges for not less than 30 days nor more than 90 days.

Its not a "felony", but over 100mph, nets you a hefty fine.

So if you drive over 100, make sure you're headed to washington! Laughing Pretty sure that's just a wreckless endangerment ticket and speeding, so like $600?

Chances are you'll be doing double, or close to double the posted limit in Washington. If so, that gives the police the ability to cite you for reckless driving and impound your car.

Great point. Check out this link for a F40 LM.

good call John, but most cops have the ability to enforce this with excessive speed.

ORS 811.127.

Last statement describes felony behavior.

base fine in Oregon for 100mph or more is $1000. I wish it was $600.

That would be organizing, that is not the same as someone just going 100mph. I'm no lawyer, or police officer, but it seems that section 127 is for organizing. section 125 covers speed racing, and that is not even a felony.

Law enforcement has the tenancy to write the rules as they go. I guess the point I was trying to make was with a group of those exotic cars from out-of-state The cop could have easily pinned "organization" penchant to .127 on them and it probably would have held up in court. Thus felony wreckless.

The officers discretion is unfortunately 3/4 of the legal law on traffic stops.
